Bedding is an indispensable product in people’s lives. The quality indicators mainly include breaking strength, color fastness, pilling, etc. The chemical indicators mainly include formaldehyde, pH value, etc., and the hygiene indicators include odor, microorganisms, etc. When judging the quality, we should pay attention to the following points:
1.Product tag or label
The product tag or label should correctly mark the product name, trademark, specifications, fiber composition, washing method, product grade, production date, manufacturer and telephone number, etc. Among them, specifications, fiber composition and washing method must use permanent labels. If the product label does not meet these regulations, it is difficult to believe its inherent quality.
2.Fabric material
Bedding is in direct contact with the body, and its quality can be judged by touching the fabric. High-quality fabrics feel soft and delicate, while inferior fabrics may feel rough and prickly. Observe whether the texture of the fabric is uniform, whether the gloss is natural, and whether there are phenomena such as exposed threads, wrinkles and pilling.
3.Fabric printing and dyeing
Dark fabrics take a long time to dye and cause great damage to the fibers. Therefore, from this perspective, printing and dyeing should be simple rather than complex, and shallow rather than dark. Check the details of printing and dyeing by observing whether the printing and dyeing pattern is clear, whether the lines are smooth, and whether there are problems such as color difference or smudge.
4.Density of the fabric
Density refers to the looseness of the bed sheet. Generally, the tighter the density, the greater the density. Fabric density has an important impact on the quality, fastness, feel, breathability and cost of the fabric. The greater the density, the better the skin feel of the fabric, the softer it feels, and the less likely it is to shrink and deform, which greatly extends the service life.
5.Sewing process
High-quality bedding has neat stitches, no extra threads, and smooth edges. Fabrics with poor weaving technology may have problems such as many threads and uneven texture.
6.Filling material
The quality of quilts and pillows is affected by their fillings, which are generally down, silk, cotton and fiber. Among them, down filling has good warmth retention and is light; silk filling is soft and breathable but requires high maintenance, and we need to pay attention to authenticity; cotton filling is natural and environmentally friendly, with a moderate price, and purity and elasticity is important; fiber filling is cost-effective, but the warmth retention and breathability are not as good as the previous ones, so you need to pay attention to density and resilience.
7.Fabric smell
Smell is also an important indicator for bedding inspection. Good quality bedding will not have much smell. If it has a pungent odor, it may contain harmful substances such as formaldehyde.
In summary, judging the quality of bedding needs to be considered from multiple angles, including product labels, fabric materials, fabric printing and dyeing, fabric density and weaving process, filling materials, and fabric safety. By using these methods, we can judge the quality of bedding more accurately and choose bedding that better suits our needs.
